TAMPA - Tracy L. Traver stood behind three men who forced their way into a man's home, beat him and stole two garbage bags filled with Christmas gifts from his living room floor, Hillsborough County deputies say.
Traver was an acquaintance of the man beaten in Friday's home invasion in the 14300 block of Hensel Lane, a criminal affidavit states.
The victim had filed a report earlier that afternoon, saying that Traver had hit him over the head with a glass ashtray because she didn't want to leave his apartment, sheriff's spokeswoman Debbie Carter said. When a deputy arrived after that incident, the victim had a cut on the left side of his face but didn't wish to prosecute Traver.
After the second incident, deputies arrested Traver, 35, of Tampa, at 7:17 p.m. Tuesday. She was charged with conspiracy to commit robbery-home invasion.
The man, who was beaten on his living room floor, opened his front door Friday after hearing a knock, sheriff's spokeswoman Debbie Carter said. He thought a friend was at his door.
Traver, of 1312 Morris Park, was in Orient Road Jail on Wednesday. Her bail was set at $7,500.
The three men who beat him have not been found, Carter said.
The property the men took was worth less than $300, the arrest affidavit states.
