TAMPA - Police arrested a man on a drug-related charge Thursday, saying he illegally obtained the prescription painkiller oxycodone from 14 doctors within 30 days, an affidavit states.
Temple Terrace police charged David Gallatin, 50, of Tampa with obtaining a prescription from a doctor by withholding information, a felony. Gallatin, who is listed as disabled in jail records, was held at Orient Road Jail on Thursday on $2,000 bail.
According to an arrest affidavit, Comprehensive Pain Management Partners, a clinic at 11402 1/2 N. 56th St., notified police Dec. 20 that Gallatin was obtaining oxycodone from other doctors by withholding information.
Police checked pharmacy records and found Gallatin's oxycodone prescriptions, as well as two separate prescriptions for alprazolam, an anti-anxiety medication, the affidavit states.
Police arrested Gallatin at headquarters Thursday.
