Centers Ring In New Year

ZEPHYRHILLS - Various bowling centers around Pasco County are offering New Year's Eve specials and parties. Pin Chasers in Zephyrhills is no different.

At Pin Chasers on Monday, bowlers can reserve a lane for $99. The price includes unlimited bowling for up to six bowlers from 9 p.m.-2 a.m. A live disc jockey will provide music.
Food platters may also be ordered from the center's restaurant but food prices are not included in the lane reservations. For information, call Pin Chasers at (813) 782-5511.

Lane Glo Bowl in New Port Richey will also ring in the new year with a special celebration. For $25 a person, the bowler receives unlimited bowling from 8:30 p.m.-1:30 a.m. The offer includes free shoe rental.

The special includes a buffet, which will be served at 11 p.m., a champagne toast at midnight, free noisemakers and hats as well as door prizes.

Hudson Bowl in Hudson has limited openings for its New Year's Eve function. For a $30 entrance fee, revelers will have unlimited bowling from 9 p.m.-1 a.m. and access to a free hot and cold buffet. Door prizes will be awarded every 30 minutes. Party favors and a champagne toast are included. For information, call (727) 863-5481.

Lane Glo North in Port Richey is offering a lane rental for $60 with unlimited bowling from 9 p.m.-1 a.m. Up to six bowlers can share the lane. For information, call Lane Glo North at (727) 848-2566.

NEW LEAGUES: There are various half-season leagues beginning in January at Lane Glo Bowl. Some are:

•Generation Gap: Each four-person team must have a minimum of two children who are at least 7 years old and at least one adult.

The league, which begins Jan. 6 and will be held on Sundays at 6:30 p.m., is only $8 a week for the 15-week league. The league also includes a Valentine's Party on Feb. 10 and a season-ending pizza party April 27. For information, call Lane Glo Bowl at (727) 376-1164.

•Joker's Wild: Lane Glo Bowl begins a mixed league Tuesdays at 7 p.m. beginning Jan. 8. Each four-person team requires a minimum of two women on the team and a minimum of one man.

The top three teams each week of the 21-week league will receive a scratch-off ticket for weekly prizes. For information, call Lane Glo Bowl at (727) 376-1164.

NORTH-SOUTH TOURNAMENT: The next monthly North-South tournament, which pits league bowlers from both Lane Glo Bowl in New Port Richey and Lane Glo North in Port Richey at each center's lanes, will be held Sunday.

The winning team will pocket $500 based on 50 entries. Entry fee is $30 per bowler. Teams representing each center will begin the day of bowling by rolling four games at Lane Glo North at 9:30 a.m. Four games at Lane Glo Bowl will resume at noon.
