I find presidential campaigns very distressful for this reason: The candidates make claims to have powers not granted to them by our Constitution.
Presidential candidates are claiming they can raise or lower taxes; the Constitution states: "All bills for raising revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives."
Candidates claim that they can make laws; the Constitution states: "All legislative powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States."
When did the executive of this nation become a dictator?
To guard our liberty and protect our nation against those who would destroy it, Congress must retain its constitutional integrity. The executive does take an oath stating, "I will preserve, protect and defend the Constitution," a document rarely mentioned - the very document that created the office.
