Performers Can Have Their Moment In Spotlight At Showcase

DADE CITY - Pride, prize money and trophies are on the line in February's Showcase of Talent during the 61st annual Pasco County Fair.

The entry deadline is Jan. 11; the fee is $20 for individuals and $20 plus $10 per member for groups.

Finalists will be determined at a preliminary contest Jan. 19 and notified by telephone or e-mail. Contestants will be judged on talent, stage presentation and dress.

Trophies will be awarded to the top three in each age group. Those groups will be determined after the preliminary contest.

Solo contestants must live in Pasco; groups can include members from outside the county

The big show is Feb. 18 and 19 at Dan Cannon Auditorium on the fairgrounds off State Road 52.

Showcase of Talent is sponsored by Pat German of Dade City Realty. Elaine Enfield, director of the fair association board, is the event's chairwoman.

Rules and applications are available online at www .pascocountyfair.com and at the fair office, 36722 State Road 52.

Fair patrons can watch the showcase for free once they have paid to get through the main gates. Fair admission is $7 for adults and $4 for children ages 6 to 12.
