A 36-year-old man was rescued Sunday afternoon after falling off his jet ski, according to a Tampa Fire Rescue spokesman.
The rescue took place off the Courtney Campbell Parkway near boat docks, said Jace Kohan with Tampa Fire Rescue.
Winds were strong, and the man was thrown off while traveling at a high rate of speed, Kohan said.
People passing by on a boat hung on to the man until rescuers could arrive, Kohan said.
The man was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital with non life threatening injuries, he said.
