First Quarter: Bucs 7, Panthers 7
WHAT WENT RIGHT FOR BUCS: With Jon Gruden resting many of his regulars and five new starters on offense, the Bucs wasted no time moving down the field to take a 7-0 lead.

WHAT WENT WRONG FOR BUCS: There were only two new starters on Tampa Bay's defense, but the Panthers quickly answered the Bucs' scoring drive with one of their own.

Second Quarter: Panthers 17, Bucs 13
WHAT WENT RIGHT FOR BUCS: Phillip Buchanon's interception early in the quarter set up the Bucs at the Panthers' 18.

WHAT WENT WRONG FOR BUCS: Despite being inside the red zone twice, the Bucs came away with a pair of Matt Bryant field goals.

Third Quarter: Panthers 24, Bucs 20
WHAT WENT RIGHT FOR BUCS: They recorded the longest scoring drive (98 yards) in team history, and the biggest play was a 31-yard scramble by Luke McCown.

WHAT WENT WRONG FOR BUCS: They let Carolina march right back down the field to score again after that record-setting drive.

Fourth Quarter: Panthers 31, Bucs 23
WHAT WENT RIGHT FOR BUCS; Only one starter suffered an injury, which was the whole idea behind Sunday's game plan.

WHAT WENT WRONG FOR BUCS: They will enter the playoffs having lost three of their last four regular-season games.
