Missing Tampa Woman, 72, Found Safe At Relative's House

TAMPA - A 72-year-old woman who vanished Wednesday night from her home on East 131st Avenue has been found safe at a relative's home in Polk County, Hillsborough County sheriff's officials said Thursday.

Matilda Blanch Altman's son told deputies she went to her bedroom to take a nap about 6:30 p.m. A couple hours later, he went to her bedroom to charge his cell phone and learned she was missing.

She has been suffering memory loss, the sheriff's office said.
