Busch Shifts Executives


Busch Entertainment Corp. said Daniel Brown, 53, executive vice president and general manager of Busch Gardens Africa and Adventure Island in Tampa, will take the same position in the company's flagship park, SeaWorld Orlando, on Dec. 1.


Donnie Mills, executive vice president and general manager of Busch Gardens Europe and Water Country USA parks in Williamsburg, Va., will replace Brown.


We're Low On Confidence


The Hudson Employment Index concluded in its October survey that workplace confidence in the Bay area ended a five-month tumble and flattened in October at 85, the lowest score among the nation's metropolitan areas. Dallas-Fort Worth was highest with 109.


Airport Selects Consultant


The Hillsborough County Aviation Authority chose Virginia-based Seabury Airline Planning Group as an air service consultant and will negotiate a contract by next month. The first project is expected to seek flights between Tampa International Airport and San Jose, Costa Rica.


More HD Coming To Verizon


Verizon announced plans to expand its high definition TV channel lineup on its FiOS system from the current 30 channels to at least 150 by the end of 2008.


BayWalk For Sale


BayWalk, the retail heart of downtown St. Petersburg, is for sale. The Sembler Co., which developed the entertainment and retail complex, confirmed Thursday it is seeking suitors for the 150,000-square-foot center.


Airport Auction Saturday


The annual Tampa International Airport surplus property and lost and found auction will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the airport maintenance hangar at 4102 N. Westshore Blvd. Inspection of merchandise begins at 8 a.m.

AirTran Promotes Fornaro


The parent of AirTran Airways, AirTran Holdings Inc., said Thursday its president and chief operating officer will become chief executive in a move that had long been planned. Robert L. Fornaro, 54, replaces former CEO Joe Leonard and will continue to serve as president. Leonard will continue as chairman.


New Sweetbay Sets Record


Sweetbay Supermarket opened its newest location in The Villages north of Orlando with a single-day sales record of 5,500 customers for the Tampa-based company.
