CORAL GABLES - QB Kyle Wright practiced Thursday, but a decision has not been made whether or not he will be the starter Saturday against N.C. State.
Coach Randy Shannon said Wright is still not moving at 100 percent because of his knee and ankle injuries sustained during the Florida State win on Oct. 20 and a decision will be made today on whether Wright will start.
"He practiced the same amount [as Wednesday], but he felt better," Shannon said. "He wasn't as sore as he was. Every day he is a little bit better. Today we did some sprint-out stuff with him and boots and getting him on the edges and stuff like that to see how he would respond, and he did, which was good. After that, we just let him rest."
If Wright is not available to play Saturday, junior Kirby Freeman will step in as the starting quarterback and junior walk-on Jorge Fernandez will back up Freeman.
LEGGETT IMPRESSES: WR Lance Leggett had a good week of practice and will be in the rotation this week after missing the last two games with an ankle injury.
"He really impressed me," Shannon said. "He caught all of the balls that [were] thrown to him. He didn't drop any that I saw."
DIXON WILL PLAY: DT Antonio Dixon (knee) will participate in 30 plays Saturday, according to Shannon.
