Avocadoes. You either love them or hate them.
Filled with fat, but high in potassium, the heavy green orbs are in abundance now as they ripen on trees throughout the Tampa Bay area.
Here are my thoughts of guilt and pleasure.
Ode to the Avocado
Avocadoes in my tree
Gee, how lucky can I be!
At least a hundred, maybe more
Your creamy goodness I do adore
Falling, falling in my yard
Some are soft, and some are hard
Filling both my veggie bins
Now I'm paying for my sins
Guacamole on my plate
Seven days this week I've ate
One for lunch, and one for dinner
Losing thoughts of getting thinner
Avocadoes in my tree
Filled with fat – but sugar free!
Although my lust will never end …
My thighs are growing, so good-bye my friend!
