TAMPA - Florida Aquarium officials are poised today to announce new projects for 2008 and beyond.
The plans will be announced along with news of record attendance in the 12 months ended Sept. 30, aquarium spokesman Tom Wagner said.
Officials would not give advance details on attendance or projects, but the plans could include an expansion of the city-owned aquarium, Wagner said.
The aquarium, in the city's Channelside District, finished its 2006 fiscal year with an operating surplus of $125,000. It drew 600,000 visitors.
The aquarium received $675,000 last year from the city for expenditures, a sum that has decreased annually, Wagner said.
