HUDSON – Mitchell High forward Marisa Russo scored two goals to lead the Mustangs girls soccer team to a 4-0 Sunshine Athletic Conference game over Hudson High Wednesday night at Cobra Stadium.
Mitchell (3-1) also had goals scored by Shelby Wright and Jessica Jagielski to take the victory.
It was Hudson's first match of the season.
Russo, who now has six goals, scored first, assisted by Wright, 19 minutes into the contest. Russo also scored unassisted from 10 yards out 23 minutes into the game.
Mitchell led 2-0 at the half. They dominated the shots on goal 12-3.
Wright scored in the game's 25th minute and Jagielski added the final goal during the contest's final minute. Rebekah Stockowski assisted.
Hudson High goalkeeper Audrey Collins made nine saves to keep the score from getting higher.
"I think for an early season game, they played well,'' said Mitchell coach Karl Kukec. "They connected the passing. Hudson gave us a little bit of a problem with their defense. Four goals is not so bad."
