TAMPA - Police have charged six teenagers in a burglary Wednesday at Hillsborough High School.
Tampa police Cpl. Jared Douds said the teens range in age from 17 to 14. A preliminary police report is not clear on the amount of damage done to the school or regarding items taken.
About 10:37 p.m., uniformed officers responded to the school, at 5000 N. Central Ave., because of a burglar alarm, Douds said. They saw several youths in the building, he said.
As the youths ran, police called for backup. They found some of the teens in the school and others at a business roughly four blocks away at 5023 N. Florida Ave.
All are charged with felony burglary and were booked into the Juvenile Assessment Center, Douds said.
