Heather Mills McCartney accused Paul McCartney of failing to protect her and their 3-year-old daughter Beatrice from abuse, which she says ranges from lies and slander to death threats.
Breaking her recent silence about issues surrounding their divorce case, Mills McCartney gave two television interviews Wednesday. She also announced that she would seek European legislation to compel newspapers to apologize for untruthful stories.
'Do you fear for your life?' she was asked in a British Broadcasting Corp. television interview.
'Yes I do, yes I do,' she said.
'And you are saying that Paul McCartney does not protect you and your child?'
'I'm afraid not,' Mills McCartney said.
On the BBC, she was asked if the tabloids were at fault.
'It's the tabloids and a certain party, but it is so extreme and so abusive ... I mean, I've been called monster, whore, gold digger, fantasist, liar.'
Paul McCartney, 65, declined to respond.
'Prison Break' Actor Sentenced
Lane Garrison of 'Prison Break' was sentenced to three years and four months in prison Wednesday for a drunken driving crash that killed a 17-year-old Beverly Hills High student in December.
'The public has the right to know that conduct such as this, causing devastation such as this' will have consequences, said Superior Court Judge Elden S. Fox.
Garrison, 27 could have received nearly seven years in prison. He had no reaction to the sentencing and was taken away in handcuffs.
Before the sentencing, he apologized to the family of Vahagn Setian.
Lopez Expecting Baby, Cavalli Says
Roberto Cavalli has confirmed, perhaps inadvertently, that Jennifer Lopez is pregnant.
Asked what types of clothing he designs for celebrities, the fashion designer told People magazine: 'Well, Jennifer Lopez, at this moment, she requests something very special because she is waiting for the baby.'
'It is so complicated because every week she is getting bigger,' Cavalli said in a story posted Tuesday on the magazine's Web site.
Seinfeld Denies 'Vegetable Plagiarism'
Jerry Seinfeld says his wife isn't guilty of 'vegetable plagiarism.'
Jessica Seinfield's 'Deceptively Delicious: Simple Secrets to Get Your Kids Eating Good Food,' published last month by HarperCollins, explains how to hide nutritious vegetables in traditional recipes so children will eat them.
'So there's another woman who had another cookbook - and it was a similar kind of thing, with the food and the vegetables in the food,' the 53-year-old comedian said Monday on CBS' 'Late Show With David Letterman.'
'But the books came out at the same time. So this woman says, 'I sense this could be my wacko moment.' So she comes out ... and she accuses my wife. She says, 'You stole my mushed-up carrots. You can't put mushed-up carrots in a casserole. I put mushed-up carrots in a casserole. It's vegetable plagiarism,'' Seinfeld joked.
