Outstanding flowers and colorful foliage: pyracantha, beauty berry, ardisia, dogwood, sycamore, Virginia creeper, cassia, chrysanthemum, roses, false dragon head

Annuals: alyssum, calendula, carnation, cleome, dianthus, foxglove, geranium, nasturtium, ornamental cabbage and kale, pansy, petunia, sweet pea, annual verbena

Perennials: blue salvia, coreopsis, day lily, gaillardia, gazania, Shasta daisy, Stokes aster, yarrow

Vegetables: beets, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, celery, Chinese cabbage, collards, kohlrabi, lettuce, mustard, onions, peas, radishes, spinach, strawberries, turnips

Herbs and spices (from plants): anise, borage, chervil, chives, coriander, dill, fennel, garlic, mints, oregano, rosemary, sage, thyme

Bulbs: African lily, amaryllis, Aztec lily, calla, clivia, gladiolus, hurricane lily, iris, narcissus, snowflake, Watsonia, zephyr lily
