ST. PETERSBURG - A man who was shot four times and pistol-whipped Thursday night is in critical condition, police say.
The man was identified as John Evans; no age or address was available.
Evans was wounded during a confrontation with a man at 961 19th Ave S., said St. Petersburg police spokesman George Kajtsa.
He apparently then drove to 4075 18th Ave. S. with his brother, Josh Reed, and lost consciousness after stopping the car, Kajtsa said. Reed sought help at that address.
Police received a report of the shooting at 11:41 p.m., Kajtsa said.
