TREASURE ISLAND - Tourists returning to their motel room late Tuesday were confronted by two men who forced them into their room and robbed them at gunpoint, police said.
The man and woman were not injured. The thieves, one of whom had a gun, got an undisclosed amount of cash, said Treasure Island Police Chief Tim Casey.
The couple were staying at Best Western Sea Castle Suites and were returning from a casino cruise about midnight when they were robbed, Casey said.
The robbers were seen fleeing in a four-door black Jeep Cherokee with tinted windows and gray bumpers, Casey said. The one with a gun was black, in his late 20s to early 30s, of heavy build and 5 feet 6 inches tall. Casey said. He also had gold teeth and low-cut hair and was wearing dark bluejean shorts.
The other man was black, bald and in his early 30s. He was 5 feet 10 inches tall and of medium build, Casey said. He was wearing an olive green short-sleeve shirt, Casey said.
