CLEARWATER - A 14-year-old boy remained in critical condition Saturday at Bayfront Medical Center, recovering from injuries sustained when a car knocked him off his bicycle Friday evening, Clearwater Fire Rescue officials said.
The bicyclist, Matthew Hanna of Largo, was airlifted to the hospital.
The accident happened at 7:38 p.m. at Hillcrest Avenue and Franklin Street.
Investigators said motorist Jason T. Crouse, 23, of Clearwater, was headed north on Hillcrest in a 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier when he hit the bicycle entering the intersection.
No charges have been filed. The road was closed for three and a half hours.
