THE DIFFERENCE: On senior night and with the 5A-District 5 championship on the line, Gaither senior Nick Cattoi booted a 47-yard field goal off the left upright with no time remaining to give the Cowboys the victory.

GAME NOTES: Gaither began its winning drive on its 38-yard line with 2:22 remaining. A critical play on the drive was Jarvis Giles' 3-yard run on fourth-and-2 from the Wharton 37. … Giles, Hillsborough County's leading rusher, gained 138 yards and a touchdown on 36 carries. ... The victory was the seventh in eight games for Gaither after it opened the season 0-2. During that stretch, the Cowboys averaged 25.4 points and allowed just more than 10. ... This was Cattoi's second consecutive season with a winning kick against Wharton. He beat the Wildcats with a 40-plus yarder during Wharton's homecoming game last season.

STAT OF THE GAME: Gaither converted all four of its fourth down attempts, with each continuing a scoring drive.

QUOTE OF THE GAME: "I aimed it left on purpose, because I was waiting for the wind to kick in. I just waited for the refs to put their hands up. I was so excited, I didn't know what to do." - Cattoi
