TAMPA - Three managers of an organization that distributed marijuana throughout Tampa were arrested Tuesday, Tampa police say.
The organization was engaged in a pattern of illegal activity from Sept. 21 through Tuesday, a criminal arrest affidavit states. The group tried distributing "multiple pounds" of marijuana.
Arrested were Oscar Alejandro Zamora-Cruz, 40; Nydia Gaytan, 42; and Juan Jose Bermudez, 26.
Investigators intercepted conversations between the organization's members, according to the affidavit. Intercepted calls also show the three managers picked up money on various dates.
About four pounds of marijuana were seized from the managers, the affidavit states.
The trio each faces the following felony counts: racketeering, conspiracy to commit racketeering, conspiracy to traffic in marijuana and felony possession of marijuana.
They are in the Orient Road Jail with no bail set.
Bermudez lives in Ruskin, while Gaytan and Zamora-Cruz live in Wimauma, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office Web site.
Zamora-Cruz isn't a United States citizen, according to the affidavit.
