Regarding "Put School District On A Consultant Diet" (Our Opinion, Nov. 5):
Pretty funny that the school board attorney, Tom Gonzalez, says, "In effect, the district could hire a consultant for any amount of money without seeking bids."
The school board attorney is a consultant! Did you miss that?
The real story here is how the school district avoids accountability by not having written policies. And isn't it the school board attorney's job to keep it this way? No written policy is practically standard operating procedure within any aspect of the district - not consultant contracts. When they can't avoid writing a policy, it is written with loopholes to be intentionally ambiguous so that they can all continue to abuse as they please.
