Boy Found Floating In Pool Dies

PLANT CITY - A 13-month-old boy who was found floating facedown in his grandparents' pool Sunday afternoon has died, police said.

Police Capt. John Borders said today that Luis Serrano had died but had no other details.

Paramedics were called to the house at 4106 Kipling Ave. about 5:05 p.m. Sunday after receiving a call that the boy's mother found him floating facedown in the pool, Plant City Fire Rescue Operations Chief Eugene Shuler has said.

A sliding glass door leading to the pool was accidentally left open, police said. No one was sure how long the boy was in the water, police said.

The names of the grandparents were unavailable.
