I find it more stressful than enjoyable to dine out. And if most people are like me, it's supposed to be a treat to dine out. Let's get straight to the point:
• If your child/children are not restaurant ready, stay at home. People dine out for the relaxation, atmosphere, to be waited on and possibly have conversation that does not include the background noise of children screaming, crying and running an obstacle course through the restaurant.
• Men, it is not appropriate to blow your nose at the table no matter where you are. People around you are trying to enjoy their meal.
• Everyone can turn their cell phone off safely for at least one hour. Your voice carries more than you know and no one is interested in hearing your conversation when they are trying to have one of their own at a normal tone.
• Be courteous to the servers and tip them appropriately. They are serving all the rude folks and the people who fall in the decent-diner category. If you cannot manage to keep your child/children from making a huge mess, add extra to the tip.
I hope this can educate just a few.
