The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office is investigating two bank robberies that occurred within 24 hours.
The suspect in each case was a white male wearing a ball cap, although police believe the robberies were committed by different people.
The World Savings Bank, at 2525 Pasadena Ave., was robbed at 3:30 p.m. Friday. The suspect was in his mid-20s and wearing a gray sweatshirt, jeans and sunglasses. When the bank teller produced the cash, the suspect said, "That's not enough," and left without taking the money.
The second robbery occurred at 11:17 a.m. Saturday at 5/3 Bank, 9111 Oakhurst Rd. The suspect was in his mid-30s and wearing a brown jacket, jeans, white tennis shoes and a surgical mask. The suspect "implied a weapon," though none was seen, and placed the cash in a blue bank bag.
The sheriff's office would not say how much money was stolen.
Anyone with information about these robberies or the suspects can call the Pinellas County Sheriff's Robbery Unit at (727) 582-6200.
