THE DIFFERENCE: East Bay pounded away with its ground attack, rushing for 362 yards and five TDs, allowing the Indians to finish 5-5 for the season.

GAME NOTES: Chaz Burrows rushed for 134 yards on 12 carries, but teammate Ryan Stubbs scored three times, from 13, 4 and 7 yards. Stubbs also gained 75 yards. … Spoto's only scoring drive went 18 plays for 80 yards and chewed up 8:23 to start the third quarter. Orey Gaines capped the drive with a 7-yard TD run. … Spoto's Mondo Purcell led the Spartans with 59 yards rushing. … Spoto QBs Jamaurice Burgess and Anthony Beko alternated snaps the entire game. … Spoto's Jamel Middleton and East Bay's DeAndre Reddick each had an interception. … Spoto finished its first varsity season 3-7. … Spoto coach Scott Palmer served as an assistant under East Bay coach Brian Thornton in 2001-02.
