SENATORS 3, CANADIENS 1: Daniel Alfredsson and Chris Neil scored goals 1:40 apart in the third period to lead Ottawa over Montreal. Alfredsson scored with 5:10 to play to tie the game, before Neil scored his second of the season for the winner.
ISLANDERS 2, DEVILS 1: Miroslav Satan scored his third straight winning goal as New York denied goalie Martin Brodeur his 500th NHL victory.
BRUINS 2, SABRES 1: Tim Thomas made 45 saves and Chuck Kobasew scored the tiebreaking goal to lead Boston over Buffalo in a matchup of struggling offensive teams.
FLYERS 5, PENGUINS 2: Kimmo Timonen had a goal and three assists, and Philadelphia scored four power-play goals in beating Pittsburgh.
RANGERS 3, MAPLE LEAFS 2: Marcel Hossa scored the decisive goal in the shootout and Steve Valiquette made 32 saves as New York beat Toronto for the Rangers' first road win of the season.
PREDATORS 4, BLUE JACKETS 3: Chris Mason stopped all three shootout attempts and Martin Erat scored the only goal in the tiebreaker to lift Nashville over Columbus.
