BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Eric Gordon was worth the wait for Indiana fans.
The highly touted guard set his first school record Monday night by scoring 33 points in his college debut, and D.J. White added 17 points to help the eighth-ranked Hoosiers beat Chattanooga 99-79.
Gordon was 9-for-15 from the field and had seven 3-pointers, six rebounds and four assists and ignited the second-half charge as the Hoosiers pull away.
MARQUETTE 66, UTAH VALLEY 55: Dominic James scored 13 points, including the 1,000th of his career, and No. 10 Marquette shook off a halftime deficit to beat Utah Valley.
James hit a 3-pointer with 4:20 to play that gave the Golden Eagles (2-0) a 57-50 lead. Joe Walker of Utah Valley hit one free throw, and Marquette's Wesley Matthews responded with a lean-in jumper that made it 59-51 with 4:20 remaining.
DUKE 86, NEW MEXICO STATE 61: Jon Scheyer scored 22 points to lead No. 13 Duke to a rout of New Mexico State.
DeMarcus Nelson scored 14 points, Gerald Henderson had 11 and Kyle Singler added 10 for the Blue Devils (2-0), who shot 47 percent and forced 26 turnovers in their second straight rout of an outmanned nonconference opponent.
TEXAS 58, TEXAS-SAN ANTONIO 37: D.J. Augustin scored 19 points and No. 16 Texas overcame first-game shooting struggles with stout second-half defense to pull away from Texas-San Antonio.
The Longhorns held the Roadrunners to 18 points in the second half and 27 percent shooting for the game.
Dotson, UF Women Topple Robert Morris
GAINESVILLE - Junior Marshae Dotson scored 25 points and collected 16 rebounds, powering Florida's women past Robert Morris 67-63.
The Gators (2-0) built a 10-point lead midway through the first half, but the Colonials (0-1) ripped off a 15-6 run and cut Florida's lead to one, 30-29, with just under two minutes remaining in the period and the teams nearly matched each other shot for shot the rest of the game, as the Gators came away with the hard-fought victory.
GEORGE WASHINGTON 70, VIRGINIA 68: Antelia Parrish had 18 points and 10 rebounds to help No. 14 George Washington beat Virginia 70-68 on Monday night.
George Washington trailed for most of the game, but rallied behind Parrish. Her third 3-pointer gave the Colonials the lead for good with 5:30 left. George Washington (2-0) was up six with 1:15 left to play, but the Cavaliers rallied with 3-pointers by Sharnee Zoll and Monica Wright.
