Mueller, who was on a bow hunting trip to Camden, Ala., was 10 miles from his destination when his vehicle left the road Friday evening and struck a culvert. He died at the scene, law enforcement officials said.

Mueller, 61, was a founder of Hillsboro State Bank and a senior partner in the certified public accounting firm Bella, Hermida, Gillman, Hancock & Mueller.

He is survived by his wife, Diane; three sons, Mark, William III and Brett; one daughter, Anne Mueller Taylor; two stepdaughters, Allison Adcock and Tracy Roberts; and five grandchildren.

The funeral will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hopewell Funeral Home Chapel, 6005 S. State Road 39, Plant City.

"Andy was a close and dear friend and an avid hunter," former Plant City Mayor Mike Sparkman said. "He has been my accountant ever since I went into business. His firm has been the accountants for the Florida Strawberry Festival for years. The firm is also the internal auditor for the city."

Gary Boothe, president and chief executive officer at Hillsboro State Bank in Plant City, said he has known Mueller for decades.

"Andy has been the bank's auditing committee chairman for the last six years," Boothe said.

Plant City Commissioner Dan Raulerson, a CPA, worked with Mueller as a staff accountant in 1980.

"He was always approachable, helpful, good-natured and pleasant to be around. It makes me sad that he is gone. I will miss him," Raulerson said.

Sparkman said Mueller was a Bandon High School graduate who developed strong ties in the community. He was a member of Plant City Elks Lodge 1727, Sparkman said.

"He will be missed by many friends that he has made over the years."
