ST. PETERSBURG – Detectives have charged a man with second-degree murder in the Aug. 4 shooting of Jimmy Lee Adams.
The suspect, Phillip J. Peterson, was in jail on unrelated drug charges when the murder charge was added.
Police believe Peterson shot Adams in the Citrus Grove apartment complex at 731 15th St. Adams was found bleeding near the intersection of Ninth Avenue South and 16th Street, and died later at Bayfront Medical Center.
