EAST LANSING, Mich. - Raymar Morgan had a career-high 25 points and 15 rebounds to help No. 12 Michigan State beat Chicago State 86-53 on Tuesday night in a first-round game of the CBE Classic.
Morgan had 15 points and six rebounds in the first half to help the Spartans grab a 45-26 lead.
All-American Drew Neitzel added 12 points for Michigan State.
Michigan State will face Louisiana-Monroe today.
WASHINGTON STATE 86, BOISE STATE 74: Derek Low scored 26 points and Kyle Weaver had 19 to lead No. 9 Washington State (2-0) past Boise State (1-1).
The Cougar tandem combined to shoot 10 of 12 in the first 8 1/2 minutes of the second half, when Washington State quickly erased a six-point halftime deficit. The Cougars outscored the Broncos 33-12 during that stretch and coasted the rest of the way.
GONZAGA 80, IDAHO 43: Freshman Austin Daye scored 18 points to help No. 14 Gonzaga rout Idaho (1-1).
Jeremy Pargo added 14 points and Matt Bouldin 12 as Gonzaga (2-0) won despite 18 turnovers in a sloppy game.
TEXAS A&M 67, ORAL ROBERTS 53: Josh Carter scored 15 points and Chinemelu Elonu keyed a second-half spurt to help No. 15 Texas A&M (2-0) beat Oral Roberts in an NIT quarterfinal matchup.
Freshman DeAndre Jordan entertained the crowd with several two-handed dunks and his block of a shot by Curtis Allen.
Women
MARYLAND 91, DELAWARE 43: Kristi Toliver had 19 points and 10 assists and Marissa Coleman had 16 points and five assists to help No. 3 Maryland (3-0) win its third game in five days, beating Delaware (1-1) in the quarterfinals of the Women's National Invitation Tournament. Maryland will host Notre Dame in a semifinal Thursday.
NORTH CAROLINA 98, ELON 53: Rashanda McCants scored 16 points to lead No. 7 North Carolina past Elon (1-3). LaToya Pringle added 13 points on 6-for-7 shooting, Jessica Breland had 12 points and 11 rebounds and freshman Italee Lucas scored 12 points for the Tar Heels (3-0).
GEORGIA 105, GEORGIA SOUTHERN 66: Tasha Humphrey scored 18 points to help No. 8 Georgia (3-0) rout Georgia Southern (1-2).
NOTRE DAME 78, WESTERN KENTUCKY 59: Ashley Barlow scored 18 points, Charel Allen added 16, No. 23 Notre Dame (2-0) jumped to a 28-point lead in the first half and cruised past Western Kentucky (1-1) in the second round of the WNIT.
