Riverview Elementary School students learned even more about ammonia today, their first day back at school since a pipeline leak sent the poisonous gas into the air, canceling classes for two days.
Members of the Hillsborough County Fire Rescue hazardous materials team talked to fourth- and fifth-graders as part of the Great American Teach-In.
"Riverview students missed out on yesterday's Great American Teach-In, so the fire department wanted to do what they could to make up for their missed opportunity," schools spokeswoman Linda Cobbe said.
The team was to arrive in a hazardous material truck.
