GAINESVILLE - University of Florida WR Percy Harvin continued to undergo IV treatments as he battles persistent migraines.
Gators coach Urban Meyer said the sophomore was in the infirmary all day Thursday, which makes his stay about four days running. He will not play against Florida Atlantic on Saturday.
Meyer said his parents came to Gainesville to be with their son for the past three days.
"He's feeling a little bit better," Meyer said. "We're all hoping. … I imagine sometime we'll have a release, I guess."
Harvin was originally diagnosed with a sinus infection and migraines more than a week ago.
This is not the first time one of Meyer's players has been incapacitated with migraines.
During Meyer's tenure at Utah, the team's captain, Morgan Scalley, also suffered from the headaches.
"I've seen them shut [a player] down for four days before," Meyer said. "It's awful."
POUNCEY TO PLAY: Even though Harvin is out, the Gators did receive some good news that RG Maurkice Pouncey will be able to play Saturday.
Pouncey suffered a high ankle sprain during the first quarter of the South Carolina game last week and was questionable until Thursday.
"He had a great day today," Meyer said. "He heals well and he works at it. He spent all day in the training room. He did a really good job."
Meyer wasn't sure if Pouncey will return to his starting role. Pouncey will likely split time with redshirt freshman Marcus Gilbert.
"He's a guy that's stepped in, doing a very nice job," Meyer said.
