PLANT CITY - Three festivals featuring doses of history, barbecue and family fun are on tap Saturday in Plant City.
The 30th annual Pioneer Heritage Day is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the 1914 Plant City High School Community Center, 605 N. Collins St. The 25th annual Children's Fun Festival is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., also at the community center. And the Plant City Pig Jam is 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Randy L. Larson Softball Four-Plex, 1810 S. Park Road, next to Plant City Stadium.
Pioneer Heritage Day includes historical displays and period crafts and foods. The children's festival includes performances by local dance troupes. The Pig Jam features children's games, entertainment and barbecue.
There's no admission to any of the festivals, although the Pig Jam parking fee is $3. Food will be for sale at the events, including at the Pig Jam, where barbecue teams from across the nation are competing for cash and prizes.
