My doll was given to me by a friend, who received it when she was a little girl. I believe it is about 50 years old.
It is in good condition and is marked "Shirley Temple." What is its value?

Shirley Temple appeared in movies during the 1930s and '40s. The child star was heavily merchandised, and dolls were especially popular. They were first made by Ideal Toy in the 1930s and continue to be produced by other companies.
Ideal Toy and Novelty was established in 1907 in New York. The founders are credited with inventing the teddy bear in 1903. It later became Ideal Toy and eventually closed in 1982. Some Ideal toy designs are still in production.
This doll was manufactured by Ideal Toy in the mid-1950s and appears to be in excellent condition. It would retail for at least $125.
If you have the original box (in excellent condition), add another $100.
Early Ideal dolls sell for more.
I recently inherited a china cabinet but need to replace the glass. The problem is that the three pieces of glass are curved. They measure about 2 feet by 5 feet.
I also need to replace the lock. Please help.

This china cabinet was manufactured around the turn of the 20th century. It appears to be made of oak with a solid or veneered bird's-eye maple back. The glass sides are curved while the door is serpentine shaped.
Since it was a gift, it might be worth the cost of restoration. The radius side panels are available in stock sizes, or they can be custom-made. The challenge is reproducing the serpentine-shaped door glass.
Have a competent restoration shop look at it, and obtain an estimate from the shop to install the glass before ordering. I have included a few resources, but you may find more online:
•Van Dykes Restorers, 1-800-558-1234; vandykes.com
•Precision Glass Bending, 1-800-543-8796; e-bentglass .com
•Glass Benders, (845) 436-6687
Keep in mind that the cabinet, glass intact, would retail for about $1,100.
