KISSIMMEE - The Plant City Raiders (6-5) ship appeared to be sunk after the first drive of the game against Kissimmee Osceola (11-0) Friday night.
Jeff Rolson, Kowboys' head coach felt this season isn't over, it is just beginning.
The Kowboys will now host Lakeland next Friday. Osceola was responsible for ending Lakeland's 53-game winning streak in October at Lakeland. "Next week is crucial," Rolson mentioned after the 34-17 victory over the visiting Raiders.
The Raiders' head coach of three years, Kevin Kelley, was unsure how the Kowboys would come out to play Friday night.
"We haven't played this team," Kelley said during the Raiders' pregame warm-ups "or any of their opponents. But everybody is open to a win in the playoffs."
Kelley and his team were disappointed by the loss to say the least, but are focusing on next season already. "We'll take the month of December off, and start up our program in January."
The Kowboys were hit with 35 penalty yards in the first quarter alone, and ended the game with 10 penalties for 75 yards.
The Raiders' senior wide receiver Adrian Sykes scored on a 50-yard pass for a touchdown with 2:27 left in the fourth to get Plant City within 17. Plant City's Keith Dawson led the team with 79 rushing yards.
Kowboys' senior running back, Bubba Brown kicked off the playoffs with three touchdown runs and 123 rushing yards.
