LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Terrence Williams recorded the third triple-double in Louisville history with 14 points, 13 assists and 12 rebounds as the sixth-ranked Cardinals rolled by Hartford 104-69 in their season-opener Saturday.
Louisville set a school record with 22 3-pointers, burying the overmatched Hawks (1-3) under a barrage of jumpers.
Andre McGee led the way, scoring a career-high 18 points - all on 3-pointers - as seven Cardinals hit double figures. Jerry Smith added 14 points, Edgar Sosa had 13 and Earl Clark chipped in with 10 points and 11 rebounds for Louisville.
Coach Rick Pitino warned the Cardinals before the game about looking ahead to a potential matchup with No. 1 North Carolina in Las Vegas next week. The Cardinals paid as much attention as necessary against the Hawks, taking control with a 20-4 run midway through the first half.
GONZAGA 84, UC RIVERSIDE 48: Freshman Austin Daye scored 16 points to lead four players into double figures and No. 14 Gonzaga (3-0) routed UC Riverside (0-4).
Jeremy Pargo and Abdullahi Kuso each added 13 points and Robert Sacre 12 to help Gonzaga post its third blowout win in a row. The Zags are holding opponents to an average of 48 points.
TEXAS A&M 85, OUACHITA 59: Bryan Davis scored 15 points and freshman DeAndre Jordan had 12 points and 10 rebounds for his first double-double to lead No. 15 Texas A&M (4-0) past Ouachita (0-1).
Jordan also broke the Big 12 record for consecutive field goals made. He has made 16 straight field goals over the last four games to break the previous record of 13, set by Nebraska's Mikki Moore in three games in 1998.
SIENA 79, STANFORD 67: Josh Duell scored 16 points to lead Siena (2-2) past No. 20 Stanford 79-67, a win reminiscent of the Saints' stunning victory against the Cardinal (4-1) in the 1989 NCAA tournament.
Alex Franklin had 14 points and a game-high nine rebounds for Siena, and Kenny Hasbrouck added 12 points in a rare meeting between the teams. In 1989, a 14th-seeded Siena squad knocked No. 3-seed Stanford out of the NCAA tournament in the first round with an 80-78 win.
KANSAS STATE 77, WESTERN ILLINOIS 64: Freshman Michael Beasley scored 23 of his 28 points in the second half and had 22 rebounds, lifting 22nd-ranked Kansas State (3-0) out of a sloppy first half to a victory against Western Illinois (1-2).
SOUTHERN ILLINOIS 88, NORTHERN ILLINOIS 68: Bryan Mullins scored 15 of his 16 points in the first half to help No. 23 Southern Illinois rout Northern Illinois (0-4) in the Salukis' season opener. Northern Illinois is now 2-25 against teams ranked in the AP's top 25.
BUTLER 60, EVANSVILLE 47: A.J. Graves scored 22 points to lead No. 25 Butler (3-0) past Evansville (0-2). Butler held a 35-32 early in the second half when senior forward Drew Streicher hit a 3-pointer that Graves followed with another 3 after an Evansville turnover.
SAINT LEO 104, PR-BAYAMON 71: Jordan Prais had 19 points and 10 rebounds, and Dusty Driggs also scored 19 to lead the Lions to a season-opening victory. Kyle Rowland added 16 points, while 11 players had at least one field goal.
Bayamon fell to 0-2.
