Man Charged In Woman's Death

LAND O' LAKES - The Pasco County Sheriff's Office arrested a 48-year-old truck driver on a first-degree murder charge more than a year after the death of a Land O' Lakes woman.
Teresa Elizabeth Lodge, 46, was found dead in her home at Lakeside Apartments on Land O' Lakes Boulevard on Sept. 29, 2006. The sheriff's office said Lodge was stabbed two days before her body was found.
On Friday, detectives obtained a warrant to arrest Derral Wayne Hodgkins of 14808 Frisky Lane, Spring Hill. The warrant was based on DNA evidence, according to Doug Tobin, spokesman for the sheriff's office.
Hodgkins was arrested at his home and is being held in Pasco County Jail without bail.
Hodgkins' arrest Friday on the murder charged triggered an additional charge of violating probation after his release from prison in 2004. Hodgkins was convicted of sexual assault in Hillsborough County in 1988.
