Key West has a lot to offer, from the interesting to paranormal.
East Martello Museum: Home of Robert the Doll and some historic military artifacts. 3501 S. Roosevelt Blvd. near the airport - an $18 taxi ride from town. Admission: $6 for adults. www.kwahs.org, (305) 296-3913.
Audubon House and Gardens: Wonderful museum filled with 28 first-edition originals of John James Audubon's artwork. Don't let ghost talk scare you away. 205 Whitehead St., in old town. Admission: $10 for adults. www.audubon house.com, (305) 294-2116.
Key West Art and Historical Society at Customs House: The spectacular J. Seward Johnson exhibit "Beyond the Frame," with its vertigo-inducing van Gogh exhibit, has been extended to January; you can walk right into life-sized Impressionist paintings. Also, don't miss the permanent Ernest Hemingway artifacts. 281 Front St. Admission: $10 for adults. www.kwahs.org, (305) 295-6616.
Key West Cemetery: Not paranormal, just an interesting spot. It includes one of the most famous tombstones in America. In 1979, waitress and hypochondriac Pearl Roberts died and left this on her tombstone: "I Told You I Was Sick." About a half-mile walk from downtown at the corner of Margaret and Angela streets. Free.
The Original Ghost Tour of Key West: Takes you out at night for scares ( www.hauntedtours.com, (305) 294-9255)). If you are in port on a cruise ship, you can book a daytime tour of haunted sites through your ship excursion desk, but it might not include Robert the Doll, so ask.
