TAMPA A kitchen fire caused $10,000 in damages at a Temple Heights Road apartment and the resident was treated for smoke inhalation Monday, Tampa Fire Rescue said.
A 50-year-old woman was cooking on the stovetop and left the kitchen. When she returned, the cabinets were on fire. Maria Figueroa was treated for minor smoke inhalation.
The fire started 4817 Temple Heights Road in apartment B-103 shortly before 5:30 p.m. Firefighters contained it less than 15 minutes.
The fire cause is listed as unattended cooking. There are 32 apartments in the building, housing mainly senior citizens.
