TAMPA - TAMPA - TAMPA Officers arrested a late-night customer at a downtown Publix supermarket after he barreled through the doors using two shopping carts and broke several bottles of wine, police said.
Daniel Hillman, 22, of Tampa, was released from a Hillsborough County Jail on $7,000 bail shortly after his arrest about 2 a.m. Sunday, records show.
Jail records list Hillman as a research technician at the University of South Florida.
Tampa police responded to the Publix at 243 Bayshore Blvd. about 1:46 a.m. because of a burglar alarm. Once at the store, officers found two sets of glass doors at the store front smashed from shopping carts and Hillman hiding in an unlocked car at the store's rear.
The officers discovered 10 rocks of crack cocaine in Hillman's possession, police said.
They also determined he had urinated on the outside of the store, broken 12 bottles of wine inside and took about $200 worth of items, police said.
