LAND O' LAKES - Seven people were injured, at least two critically, in a head-on collision Saturday night at State Road 52 and Ehren Cutoff.
About 7 p.m., Calvin L. Moore, 37, was turning left onto Ehren Cutoff from S.R. 52 and drove his 2000 Chevrolet Blazer into the path of a pickup, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The Blazer spun into the eastbound lane; the 1998 Dodge pickup driven by Vaughn Fields, 66, of Bushnell, spun onto the shoulder.
Fields and an unidentified passenger were taken by helicopter to Tampa General Hospital, where Fields was listed in critical condition Sunday.
Moore, of 23325 Brandy Road, and three passengers were taken by helicopter to St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa, where Brandon Moore, 15, was in critical condition Sunday, according to a nursing supervisor. Moore and Calvin Moore Jr., 18, were listed in fair condition in the surgical unit. Allana Moore, 13, was in fair condition at the children's hospital.
A fourth passenger, Antawn Slater, 14, was transported for injuries but not listed on hospital rosters Sunday.
Calvin L. Moore was charged with violation of right of way for making a turn in front of approaching traffic. He could face additional charges, depending on the extent of the injuries, Sgt. Jeff Johnson said Sunday.
