NEW ORLEANS 65, N.C. STATE 63: T.J. Worley banked in a 3-pointer with 1.7 seconds left and New Orleans became the latest mid-major to spring an upset by beating No. 21 North Carolina State.
VILLANOVA 70, BUCKNELL 64: Shane Clark scored 17 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, Scottie Reynolds added 15 points and No. 24 Villanova held off Bucknell.

MARYLAND 75, LSU 62: Kristi Toliver scored 23 and Laura Harper had 14 of her 16 points in the second half to help No. 3 Maryland beat fourth-ranked LSU in the Preseason WNIT championship.
TENNESSEE 92, TEXAS 67: Candace Parker scored 21 points, including Tennessee's first 11, and grabbed six rebounds and the top-ranked Lady Vols beat No. 21 Texas.
STANFORD 71, UTAH 77: Jayne Appel scored four of her 30 points early in the second overtime and No. 5 Stanford avoided an upset, holding off Utah.
RUTGERS 67, GEORGE WASHINGTON 42: No. 6 Rutgers broke out of its early season mini-doldrums in a big way, handing No. 14 George Washington a rare home blowout defeat.
NORTH CAROLINA 97, SYRACUSE 72: Rashanda McCants collected career highs of 27 points and 14 rebounds to lead No. 7 North Carolina to victory over Syracuse.
DUKE 84, UNC-GREENSBORO 39: Freshman Krystal Thomas had 20 points and 10 rebounds, and No. 10 Duke beat North Carolina-Greensboro.
