1 Killed, 2 Hurt In Crash

LAND O' LAKES - A 21-year-old man was killed and two others were injured Sunday night after the vehicle they were in went out of control, rolled over and ejected them.

Brian L. Rushing, 18, of 4645 Tamney Lane, was driving north on Parkway Boulevard, south of Regina Place, when he lost control of his 1996 Isuzu Rodeo shortly after 11:30 p.m., the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The SUV overturned several times, coming to rest on the east shoulder of the road, the patrol said.

Andrew Rushing, a passenger in the SUV, was taken to University Community Hospital in Tampa, where he was pronounced dead. Brian Rushing and passenger Brittany Y. Ray, 18, were taken to the hospital, where they were treated and released Monday, a hospital spokesman said.

Charges are pending further investigation and blood test results, patrol Lt. M.D. Hensley said.
