Bishop, a senior All-American, was also named to Soccer America's National Team of the Week, her first appearance on the team. She also was added to the SoccerBuzz.com Elite Team of the Week.

The forward is the first UF soccer player to be named SEC Tournament MVP since 2004, and she is the 10th Gator to earn the honor.

In 24 games, Bishop has a team-high 10 goals, including four game-winners, and 10 assists.

Florida, a No. 3 seed, advanced to the round of 16 teams with a 4-3 victory in penalty kicks against visiting Central Florida on Sunday and will travel to Los Angeles for a Nov. 24 match against second-seeded Southern California.

DUKE FRESHMAN NZE STAGES UPSETS: Duke freshman tennis player and Saddlebrook graduate Ellah Nze recently advanced to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association National Indoor Championships, where she staged two upsets to reach the semifinals.

Nze beat fifth-seeded Zuzana Zemenova of Baylor, 3-6, 6-4, 7-5 in the round of 16 before dominating No. 2 Susie Babos of Cal, 6-2, 6-2. Babos has won three of the last four Grand Slam tournaments.

With the two victories, Nze became the first freshman, along with Baylor's Taylor Ormond, to reach the semifinals of the competition since Babos did it in 2005.

In the semifinals, Nze lost to No. 3 seed Ani Mijacika of Clemson, 6-1, 6-1.

Thomas has seen playing time in all five of Clemson's games this season, including the exhibition game against DT3, a team of former collegiate players.
