TAMPA - TAMPA - TAMPA A Hillsborough County school bus driver is free on $2,000 bail today after police said she sold officers about 30 bootleg DVDs of movies currently in theaters.
Sonia Monique Adams, 40, of Tampa is charged with "unlawful acts regarding audiovisual articles," a third-degree felony, jail records show. Tampa police arrested her about 6:20 p.m. Monday at North 37th Street and East Hillsborough Avenue during an undercover sting.
Cpl. Jared Douds, a police spokesman, said detectives had received information that Adams was selling bootleg DVDs. She sold officers about 30 DVDs during the undercover sting on Monday, he said. In addition, officers found several hundred bootleg DVDs stored in her house and her car, Douds said.
Police have no information that Adams was selling the DVDs to students, Douds said.
