TAMPA - A 16-day old infant in a car seat was ejected from a pickup truck when it rolled over after a tire blew out on Interstate 4 on Wednesday, Florida Highway Patrol reported.
The infant, Nicolas Garcia, and six other passengers were taken to Tampa General Hospital. The pickup truck was traveling westbound on I-4 when the rear right tire blew out and the driver lost control at 5:12 p.m.
Some passengers were in the pick up truck's bed.
The driver, Ruben Bravo, 27, of Kissimmee, was arrested at the hospital and charged with driving with a suspended driver's license. Additional charges are pending. He is being held at Orient Road Jail on $2,000 bond.
The crash snarled traffic on the eve of Thanksgiving. The accident occurred near the overpass for US 301.
