A 21-year-old woman was arrested in connection with the kidnapping of 13-year-old Clay Moore after she turned herself in Wednesday, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office said.
Clay was abducted at gunpoint from his school bus stop on Feb. 23 in Parrish.
Ana Purecotinoco was charged with accessory after the fact. She turned herself in at the Manatee County Jail, where she is being held on $10,000 bail. The state attorney's office issued an arrest warrant earlier on Wednesday.
She is the girlfriend of Vicente Ignacio Beltran-Moreno, 23, who was arrested in March and charged with kidnapping. Detectives say they think Purecotinoco helped Beltran-Moreno kidnap Clay. Beltran-Moreno remains in the Manatee County with no bail.
Clay's escape became national news.
Clay had a safety pin from a torn jacket sleeve in his mouth and, while bound to a tree, used it to free his duct-taped wrists and escape. He then provided authorities with a detailed description of his abductor and his vehicle.
