NEW PORT RICHEY - They found his body Tuesday morning, next to a Dumpster behind the Genesis School, as parents dropped their children off at the private elementary.
The man's belongings were stuffed in an old backpack. His clothes were soiled.
He had been using the fencing around the garbage bin as shelter, and died in his sleep overnight, city police said. They think he had a pre-existing medical condition.
Police later identified the man as Theodore Michael Connors, 57, address unknown.
"We didn't find any evidence of foul play," said Assistant Chief Darryl Garman of the New Port Richey Police Department. "But we're waiting for the autopsy results."
His relatives, in Michigan, were notified on Tuesday.
