BRADENTON - A car accident that killed an Arcadia man early Tuesday helped solve the mystery of a Bradenton woman missing for a month.
A news helicopter that was covering the fatal wreck at State Road 64 and County Road 675 spotted a car in the woods a few hundred feet from the accident scene.
Authorities were alerted and found the crashed car and the decomposing body of a woman nearby. She was identified at Tina Blair Godwin, 43, of Bradenton, reported missing by her family in late October.
Godwin was driving a red 1994 Saturn when she crashed into the woods off C.R. 675 where it intersects with S.R. 64 near the Lake Manatee State Recreation Area.
